Sunday Six | Posts I've Loved This Week #1

There's nothing better in the blogging community than sharing the love and supporting fellow bloggers so I have decided to start a series here on my blog to show my love for other bloggers and their posts.

Just a disclaimer here, although this is posts I have loved this week, it takes me a very long time to get through my Bloglovin' feed so the posts that will feature here will be a few weeks old and not necessarily the newest posts from these bloggers. So without further ado, lets get started...

Bethany Georgina - 21 Things to Be Happy About

Nails of the Day | Kiss Salon Acrylic French

Today I'm bringing you a slightly different NOTD post as I have been sent some Kiss Salon Acrylic French* nails to test out. It's been a good few years since I dabbled with stick on nails, preferring to paint or gel my nails at home, or getting acrylic nails done at the salon if I wanted falsies.

When my parcel arrived I was happy to see not just one but two sets of nails. The two sets I received were a medium length in an almond type shape and a real short length in a square shape and they are in two different french finishes. It took me a good while to decide which set I wanted to try out first and eventually settled on the almond shaped set.

Each set comes with 28 nails so that you are able to find the perfect sizes for your nails, after sitting and laying them all out I eventually found enough little nails that fit on my teeny tiny hands. The instructions state to put glue on both your own nail and the fake nail to ensure that it bonds so I worked my way across my hands gluing them on one by one nearly gluing my fingers to each other multiple times, I don't advise doing this. I was pretty impressed with the application, I noticed a couple weren't completely straight, but I've only got myself to blame for that.

Other than the wonky ones, I was really pleased with how these look once they are on. As they are quite a thin nail, they sit nicely into the nail bed and look very natural. When I was in the Lush store on Oxford Street I was talking to a lovely shop assistant who complimented me on my nails and asked me where I got them done, to which I responded 'oh, they are Kiss glue on ones', let's just say she was impressed.

On the side of the packet, it states that these nails have a 7 day wear so after 7 days I was a bit more cautious about what I did with my hands making sure not to catch the nails at all. More and more days went by a to my surprise I actually managed to keep these on for a whole 3 weeks, yes 3!! You could tell where they were starting to come away from the nails round the edges a little but they still didn't come off easily that is for sure.

I can't wait to try out the other set and I will definitely be purchasing some for myself when I want false nails in the future, they retail for about £7.95 a set, certainly a lot cheaper than a set of acrylics in a salon.

Have you tried Kiss Nails? What is your favourite false nail brand?

Review | Vatika Naturals Garlic Enriched Hair Oil

Right back in June I took a trip into London to attend the Bloggers Ball organised by Scarlett London. There was a large range of brands there, one of them being Vatika Naturals, they offer a large range of natural hair products for all different hair types, made with a large number of different ingredients.

Review | Nivea Post Shave Balm

I took the photos for this post right back before my little blog hiatus and to be honest I wasn't sure I was still going to do the post but after doing a poll on Twitter it seems that people still want to see it.

Like a lot of products that are majorly raved about within the blogger community, I was very late on the bandwagon for this. If you haven't heard, basically the wonderful Nikkie Tutorials made a wonderful discovery that the Nivea Post Shave Balm is a great substitute for make up primer. There was a big big big hype for this product after this revelation, everyone and their dog was buying it and if you didn't know this, where have you been?

Nails of the Day | Sensationail Ocean Sparkle

If you've been reading my blog or a little while now, you will know I have a very big nail varnish problem, but more recently I haven't touched my collection because I am loving my Sensationail Gel Nail kit too much to want to do anything else. I will try to start including more normal nail varnishes in these posts soon, but it will probably be once the gel novelty wears off.

Empties - Products I've Used Up #3

First things first, let's get this out the way, I hate hate hate taking pictures of my empties, I find them the most boring thing to photograph and have no inspiration whatsoever on how I can arrange them or lay them out nicely. So basically, what I'm trying to say it, please excuse how awful the photo is on the post and pray for me to be able to improve them in the future.

Now that's out of the way I'll actually move onto talking you through what I have used up recently...

Bargain Boots Find - Clinique

There is no denying it, Boots is a shop that I spend way too much time in, about 80% of my visits are for no reason whatsoever, just the off chance that an amazing bargain or new 'got to have' product jumps out and shouts buy me. Fortunately for me but unfortunately for my bank balance, this happens pretty much every time and this occasion was no different.

Along with all the usual types of items that made their way into my basket (the nail varnishes, the hair products, the new must have brow product) I came across this complete bargain and the perfect way to try out some new to me Clinique products. I've never really tried much from Clinique but it is definitely a brand I want to explore more.

Beauty | NYX Cosmetics Haul

Unless you've been living under a rock, it's safe to say you will have heard of NYX Cosmetics, the American brand that everyone and their Nan has been talking about and now it's hit UK stores. As soon as I heard that NYX was coming to Boots stores, I made it my mission to track down a counter. I'd tried a few stores and then kind of forgot about my hunt and one day I walked into one of my local stores and there it was in front of me, completely unexpected. As it took me by surprise it was pretty overwhelming so I quickly took to Twitter to ask what products I needed to pick up.

Nails of the Day | Sensationail Pink Daisy

It's been a long while since I did a nails of the day post, in fact it's been a long while since I did a post at all, sorry about that guys! My nails have stayed bare for a very long time recently, this wasn't a conscious decision or anything, just out of pure laziness. I've been meaning to post about my Sensationail kit for quite some time but I ran out of the base and top coat and it took me forever to find it in Boots (I refused to order it online because there was no way I was going to pay delivery for one item).

Beauty | Make Up Revolution Haul

First things first, I have to apologise for my absence during April, I have absolutely no excuse for my lack of posts other than laziness and procrastination. I placed the order for these Make Up Revolution items right back before Easter which feels like forever ago now! Around this time they had brought out quite a few new releases so I knew I had to pick up some goodies, read on to see what I ordered.

Beauty | March Favourites

March has been one of those months where I didn't even need to stop and think about what my favourites would be, there were some definite stand out products that will certainly cement themselves in my routine for quite some time. A few of these products I am quite late on the bandwagon but they are all big favourites in the blogging world.

Baking | Easter Nest Cupcakes

I'm very pleased to be branching out and writing my first baking post here on my blog, what better time to do it than Easter? In previous years I've just done simple old no baking involved rice crispie nests, but this year I thought I would mix it up a little. This quick and easy recipe is one I found on the BBC Good Food website and made my own adaptations for the decoration on top.

Brunching at Coast to Coast

One of my favourite things to do in my spare time is going out for meals but I very rarely go out for breakfast. I never really think to go out for breakfast because most of my plans are either all day things so we go for lunch or we are just out in the afternoon. The other Sunday I had no plans so I sent my friend a message on the Saturday evening to see if she wanted to go for brunch, I knew it would never count as breakfast because my friend doesn't do early mornings, thankfully Coast to Coast serve their breakfast till 12pm.

How Much Is My Face Worth?

This is a post I've seen a few bloggers do, unfortunately I now can't remember who has, if you have done this, let me know in the comments and I will add in a link to your post. Ever since seeing it I thought it was a really interesting thing to do and I think it's either going to be the biggest shock of my life or I will be pleasantly surprised, but I'm pretty sure it'll be the former.

Review | Cath Kidston Flora Geranium Hand Cream

Everyone knows that finding the perfect hand cream comes with a struggle. Over the years I've tried tonnes of different hand creams and always find they are too runny/too thick/too strong smelling etc. At Christmas one of my stocking filler presents came in the form of this lovely hand cream from Cath Kidston. This has quickly become my favourite hand cream to use, it's just the right consistency, soaks in quickly without feeling greasy and I love the scent, this is the second geranium scented item I have smelt recently and I am surprised how much I like it because I actually can't stand the smell of geraniums.

Empties - Products I've Used Up #2

When I wrote my last empties post it had taken me quite a while to build up enough products to do a post but I seem to have used up things a lot quicker so I've got a bit more to go through this time. Like a lot of other people I really like reading these posts but I also like writing them as it's a good reminder of what I've used and think more about whether I really liked the products and whether I want to pick them up again.

Review | Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette

Everybody knows the worst part about make up and the application of make up is cleaning brushes, I've been trying to get hold of a product like this for a very long time, I have been seeing brands like Sigma selling them for ages but they all seem really expensive and cost a small fortune to ship to the UK. I was recently having a browse in my local Superdrug when I came across this new release from Real Techniques and knew I had to pick up, you can't go wrong with Real Techniques. This is priced at £12.99 but when I picked it up there was a buy one get one half price offer so I got a twin pack of the Miracle Complexion Sponge at the same time which worked out to be a pretty good deal.

A Little Lush Haul

Just as I finally thought I was getting into the swing of posting on a regular basis and on the days I have told myself I would post, I was struck with a lovely cough and cold combination, which brought with it a lack of motivation for my blog, so this post is a week later than originally planned.

When payday came round last month I went onto the Lush website and did exactly what you should do when you've been paid, I placed an order. With the Valentine's Day and Mother's Day collections in stock I had even more reason to stock up.

Review | Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Palette

This isn't a post I was planning on doing until I did my Post Christmas Purchases post and got a couple of comments asking to review this palette so I thought why not? My palette collection has grown considerably in the last 6 months and I just cannot resist the urge to pick up more. There was such a hype around this palette and knowing it was limited edition made me want it more.

January Favourites

This is only the second month since I started blogging that I've actually been able to pick out enough items to put together a favourites post. This isn't exactly a bad thing because it means that something really has to stand out to me to be considered a favourite.

Nails of the Day - No7 Dancing Shoes

If anyone ever tries telling you that glitter nail varnish is only for Christmas, don't listen to them, you don't need that negativity in your life. I love a glitter nail any time of the year because I can sit staring at how pretty they look for ages.

My Running Journey

When I first started my blog, I said that it would mainly be beauty posts and up to this point that is all it has been, until today. As it is becoming quite a big part of my life now, I decided I wanted to share my running journey with you all.

Last July I joined a running club that was started up by a local man who had been looking for a club to join, I managed to start at the club on it's first week which was quite good as everyone was in the same boat and I never had to be the newbie. Joining the running club, I considered myself a beginner, I used to be on the cross country team at school but since then I hadn't really done any running.

Post Christmas Purchases

The days between Christmas and New Year are perfect for picking up lots of bargains in the sales, so I took advantage of this both on the internet and at the shops (while I wasn't consuming by body weight in chocolate or watching every film in my collection). I then thought there was nothing better to do than share with you what I picked up.

#TLSXmas Gift Swap

Since I started blogging I really wanted to get involved with other people to do some form of box or gift swaps, when I saw Katy Gilroy's #TLSXmas gift swap I signed up straight away. Katy paired me up with Megan at Lazy Thoughts so I emailed her right away to introduce myself, it was only when she emailed back that I found out we have spoken in Twitter chats before. We got chatting, agreed on a £15 limit and I got browsing her blog to see what I could buy her.

My present from Megan arrived a few days before Christmas and I just had to open it straight away (kind of with a hope of posting before Christmas, but then as usual I procrastinated too much). As I ripped off the brown paper I revealed this lovely red box that just screams Christmas complete with a lovely wooden tag.
